Dr. Jayton Salmans

Dr. Salmans is originally from Hanston, Kansas, a small town near Dodge City.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Kansas State University. He went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry degree at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2025.

Dr. Salmans has clinical interests in surgical procedures, specialty contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care, and dry eye therapy. His journey into optometry was shaped by a close relationship with his grandmother, whose battle with cancer inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare. While working for an optometrist in Kansas, he discovered how eye care could play a role in early detection of systemic diseases, including cancer.  That experience solidified his passion for optometry and its powerful impact on patients’ overall health and quality of life.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP), as well as an InfantSEE provider. He is committed to delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages.

Outside the office, Dr. Salmans enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, especially on the lake, and watching movies. He lives in Fort Gibson with his wife Danielle and their dog Griffin. His family is thrilled to be welcoming a daughter in August 2025!!

He looks forward to serving the Fort Gibson community for years to come.
