Meet the Doctor

Dr. Kelsey Buford

Dr. Buford is originally from Mt. Vernon, South Dakota and graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2015 before going on to graduate from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2019.

Dr. Buford has completed extensive training in the diagnosis and management of various ocular conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. She is also very passionate about eyecare in children, especially pediatrics and vision therapy and hopes to add aesthetics, dry eye specialties, and vision therapy to the clinic soon.

Dr. Buford was a faculty member at NSUOCO before founding Fort Gibson Family Eyecare and she continues to use that same education style to help her patients learn and understand their eye health. She enjoys taking the time to personally get to know her patients and she believes and advocates for preventive care to sustain great vision and quality of life.

Dr. Buford is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP), and Optometric Vision Development and Rehab Association (OVDRA). She is an Infantsee and Curesight Provider as well as an Oklahoma State Advocate for the InfantSEE program.

Dr. Buford is married to her husband, Jace, and they have two children, Jentry and Johnse. She enjoys helping her husband on their farm, reading a good book, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to bring her outgoing personality and passion for helping others to the town of Fort Gibson.
